OUTSIDE LOOKING IN

Finally Nancy Jo, here are more pictures. You've seen the back way to the cabin thru the woods from my house. Here's looking at it from the other side. Sorry my porch was a bit messy. You can see my great granny's soap kettle sitting on the porch. My mama gave it to me the other day. And I intend to use it! The porch swing is old and worn, but I hadn't the heart to throw it out. It belonged to my grandparents. Me and grandma used to sit in that swing and sing "The Old Rugged Cross." The clothesline is only a makeshift one, I can take it down or put it up whenever I need it. You see the big oval washtub, the one on the bottom? Well that happens to be my bathtub. Sitting on the porch I watch the birds, and squirrels, and a family of rabbits. There is a deer run in the woods in the front of the cabin up on a hill. The family hasn't deer hunted much in these woods so it is plentiful with wild game. If you plan to spend the night in the cabin, you may get awakened by a "gobble, gobble, gobble." The wild turkeys make a couple runs thru each day, about 18 of them at last site. I hope you enjoy your visit and please come back soon. Oh.... leave me a post, PLEASE! I'd love to come visit you too!

I've been remiss catching up on everyones' blogs lately, and I am so glad I paid a visit to yours today! I've missed A LOT! Your two boys playing ball look so sweet - my oldest just started playing baseball two weeks ago and loves it! My Dad loves helping my son with his pitching and hitting. I love your cabin, too! What a treat to have a place to call your own in such a quite and peaceful area.

I love the color of the cabin. Everything about it is so pretty and peaceful. What a special place if you swang on that swing as a child with your grandmother.

Mikki Jo,
Thanks for the tour. Yea keep the swing for sure. I would love to come visit the cabin, but I will take a bath BEFORE I come.
Looks like someone did a big lawn mowing, looks nice. Still trying to come up with something for the cabin, I have to think on it. I might have one idea.

Thanks for showing us more pictures of the cabin, Mikkijo. It is such a sweet, peaceful looking place! I'd keep that porch swing, too! No wild turkeys outside my door here (too many dogs in the neighborhood) but there have plenty of wild geese honking lately.

I would love to have a place like that. Sometimes I dream about having a home that is away from all these modern day things. I don't know how long I could last but I would be willing to give it a shot. Just beautiful and peaceful everything is. Keep the pictures coming. So that I can keep dreaming.......

Your cabin is so beautiful! Your porch isn't messy -- just lived on. My granny used to sing the Old Rugged Cross to me too -- what a sweet memory!
